Did a 5K in August - walked it with a friend and came home and decided to do another. My goal was to run in entirely, but I never trained for it...so today's came around and it was COLD OUTSIDE...but 4 degrees warmer than yesterday...THANK THE LORD for that...but Janice and I did it. I walked and ran it, but walked more to stay with Janice...plus I think if I had tried to run any more than I did, they' d be taking me out on a stretcher...BUT...I improved my time by 10 minutes from August so I was happy....a bit numb...and still numb but very happy...I do know that I need to buy some winterized running pants and some wool sox and did I mention that I am still numb...I got done two hours ago...was a lot of fun and am looking forward to a training club that I will start in January and my goal is to run the 5K Girl Friends run in Bend Oregon On May 27th!

Sisters Oregon
For several years I have organized a girls weekend...for two years we went to the Oregon Coast but last year we went to Bend Oregon. This year we went to Sisters...and no---did not bring out the camera!
I joined Carrie from Cricketwood Prims (she picked me up) and we went to the Stitchin Post for their annual PJ sale. I went last year with Carrie as well. As we were walking up to the store, I noticed a gal whose blog I follow..Lori from Humble Quilts. It was nice to meet someone that I have chatted with for about a year.
Carrie and I did some damage and then went to breakfast at the Gallery. I love the Gallery and had forgotten all about it. Had a great visit with her over breakfast.
Went back to my group of girls and we enjoyed a wonderful, fun filled and much laughter weekend. Am looking forward to next year.
Here is the one photo I took with my cell phone...it does not due the view justice.

Run Girl Run 5k & 1/2 Marathon
I had a goal to train to run a 5K this year. I started out well but did not make the running goal, however I did walk the 5 K with two of my friends. Both friends have endeared health issues this past year so seeing them walk this and finish was absolutely amazing. Janice ended up jogging a bit and finished in just under an hour and Dawn and I finished in just over 1 hour, thirty minutes better than I had hoped.
Lastly, I got to see a friend that I had not seen in about 6 years, Donna. Such a great friend.
A great day was had by all and I am amazed at all the women who can run a 1/2 marathon...my feet are killing me from just walking a 5K!~

Janice has endeared surgery in March to remove a brain tumor and has dealt with balance issues, so being able to walk this and run some of it was amazing!
Watching Dawn finish brought tears to not only her eyes but mine as well. Last year she almost passed away from a serious illness and has been walking for the past 8 or so months to get her strength back. Knowing that she finished, with her family there to cheer her on just makes me so very happy even though we were the last walkers in the 5K.
I will post some pictures as soon as people post them, but it was a great way to start a beautiful sunny Sunday morning in the Pacific NW!

Sunriver, Vacation, blog friends and a quilt show
Will have to first state that my camera battery died and I did not venture to a store to buy a new one. Had a great time in Sunriver for the week. Got there on Monday, rode my bike (got lost) and finally made it to see my friends that were leaving that day. Tuesday brought the pool and dinner with my cousin and her boyfriend. Wednesday was more pool time, Thursday was A VERY LONG DAY ON THE RIVER...the wind was against us and what should have taken no more than 4 hours TOPS, took almost 6 hours...so the day was all river. Friday was a very relaxing day as my mom drove home. My friend Cathy came over as she was a vendor in the Sunriver quilt show on Saturday. She and her daughter and I drove into Bend to attend Quiltworks First Friday Art Walk. What a great turn out...I do not have any pics, but Anna from Woolie Mammoth did it justice with all of her pictures. I was thrilled to meet Anne from Cottens-n-wool. I was surprised as she indicated she would be out of town, but she was there...such a nice lady. Then we went off to downtown Bend...what a busy place. We ended the week doing a vendor booth for my friend, Cathy's hand dyed wool at the Sunriver Quilt show. She makes some beautiful colors.
Today is a day to clean out the car, a fast trip to OMSI as it is adult $2.00 day - the first Sunday of every month is for adults only and is only $2.00 to get in...then its back to work tomorrow.
I bought some fabric and the WONDERFUL Primative Quilt magazine...I will be working on projects this week during my breaks and lunch and then hope to start on the halloween wall hanging on page 58 of that book!
My goal is to blog more! I sure hope I can.

Fabric Depot
So Fabric Depot is having 35% off of all fabric yesterday and today. I went there today and walked in, walked down one isle and walked right back out. Ever have one of those days where everything seems like too much? That is how I felt when I was in there today. Not sure if it was because there were, oh I don't know..maybe 150 cars outside and the place was packed? Or that I woke up still not feeling good and my body aching....The good thing is they are open until 9pm so I will go back at about 6pm when it has cleared out some....
